Fishin’ For Fishies

An illustration inspired by my urban fishing adventures in Minneapolis. In urban waterways, the areas most disturbed by human interference; dams, drainage pipes, bridges, etc. are surprisingly often the spots with the most abundant fish life. I tried to capture this interesting and seemingly counterintuitive relationship between man and nature by juxtaposing the organic flowing shapes of the fish and plant life against the rigid geometry of anthropogenic structures.
